9 year plan feedback
Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
My only concern is that the plans for a new performing arts centre are being shelved. While 231 Stuart St may not be the most versatile of venues, one hopes that the search will continue for another alternative - Sammy's? - that can be modified.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Yes, introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
While I have doubts about the cost of providing facilities to allow charging, and suspect it may well put some visitors off, I know that when travelling I have taken for granted an entry fee to museums and art galleries.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I wish to endorse the continuation of the walkway cycleway on the Otago Peninsula. It will improve safety for the children of Portobello School and encourage further cycling and walking of both locals and visitors without encroaching further on the Harbour's intertidal zone.
Local Water Done Well feedback
Which water services delivery model do you support?
The Council’s preferred option: an in-house delivery model
Why did you choose this option?
A highly competent staff who have proved they can handle pipe replacements, rather than putting on more layers of management and wearing the set-up costs of a new CCO.
Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
I could never understand why the Council opposed the previous government's Three Waters proposal whereby the costs were moved from the local body rates to central government taxes! An opportunity missed!
