9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I’m commenting on two sections from the consultation document. Councils use plans and budgets to advance their important goals. I’d say community housing and action on climate change and are high priorities for Dunedin. Council should use the 9 Year Plan and budget to resource them properly. COMMUNITY HOUSING A great small city will make sure all its people are adequately housed. Dunedin has a long history of providing affordable and good quality community housing, and should continue to build on this. Population projections show an increasing number of elderly people in the city. As time goes on fewer and fewer of them will own their own homes, which will severely limit the options available for affordable, healthy housing in their later years. Continued investment by Council will help to address this need. I’d like to see Council apply resources to • eliminate homelessness in the city, and • further support the housing needs of elderly people. Please reinstate capital funding for community housing to the 9 Year Plan. ZERO CARBON 2030 The Council rightly identifies climate change as a huge challenge facing the city, and is in a position to show leadership for all people and businesses. A target without enough resources will go nowhere, so please build the high investment package into the 9 Year Plan.
