Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I am so happy to see that action that council has taken regarding Te Awa Ōtākou/ Peninsula Connection in the last 8 months, asking staff for a report and agreed for its completion to be part of the draft 9 year plan. this would make a HUGE difference to the quality of my family's lives and I thank you and implore that you ensure completing this project remains in the 9 year plan.
The Council need to deliver on its promise to complete the three sections of the Te Awa Otakou/ Peninsula Connection as per the consented designs and in the following order:
Otakau bus stop around Fisheries Corner (due to oncoming traffic, I was forced into the gutter last week on that corner)
Portobello township past school to bus turn around - our community this side of Portobello deserve a safe way to enter the village via bike/walking)
Inland section to Otakou bus stop. (cars go fast here - we need a bike path to feel safe riding on this bit of road.
To make Dunedin a more livable city for those living in the Greater Green Island and Mosgiel areas that a bike/walking path needs to be established for safe active transport to and from the city. and to have a future tourism opportunity to connect Dunedin to the Middlemarch and Waihola bike tracks!!
I do not want to wait until year 9 for the Dunedin Urban Cycleways Tunnels Trail. The plans are there and the sooner it is built the sooner so many of us would start using it rather than our cars each day to get to work!! I currently do not feel safe riding my bike on busy city roads. I want to see this project started as soon as possible!! I know its not the governments priority but I still think DCC can find some money to do a segment each year of the plan and then every year you are making a difference for one more community to be more active away from cars.
keep supporting place based community work within our city so that all of our communities can thrive. keep supporting our arts communities within the city.
keep looking for ways to make our city safer for our young people, the bus hub tragedy impacted our entire family and the city needs to do more in spaces where young people congregate at key times to make those spaces calm
Local Water Done Well feedback
Which water services delivery model do you support?
A Three Waters Council-Controlled Organisation (CCO)
Why did you choose this option?
I have not seen the council do in-house well. our water tastes terrible
Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
