It is obvious that this site is taking up valuable finances from other areas which said finances could be utilized.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
No, do not introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
The costs to staff trying to implement this would be wasted in time. Not everyone who is living in the area takes verification that they live within the city boundaries. It would be more appropriate to have a donation box on the counter in which visitors are requested to donate. I am aware there are these already in place but need to be pushed more to people to donate as they enter.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
There is far too much debt held by the city in which it is the ratepayers who are being penalized by rates rises every year. The last year was the highest and with the percentages suggested for the next few years it is beyond ridiculous. To those councilors who want to spend on their pet projects it is time you woke up and remember who you are there for. You were elected to stand up for the ratepayers and not yourself. If you can not achieve this then do not stand for re election.
