Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Yes, introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
Looking at Te Papa which has seen a decrease in visitor numbers, is $20 too high.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I have benefited from the support of Start Up Dunedin to establish my own business. I decided not to progress with the business I was developing as part of the incubator programme, but with the skills I learned I started my next business and straight away it has been a success, bringing in income from across New Zealand while enabling me to remain in Dunedin. Start Up Dunedin provided a supportive and constructive environment of like-minded entrepreneurs and I believe it is critical to the economic success of our great city. Many people I speak to love Dunedin, but comment on how career opportunities are limited and it either stops them moving here, or they are considering moving away. Having a supportive and thriving entrepreneurial system will help new businesses get off the ground and provide the critical skills people need to succeed in the current economic climate. I strongly support increased funding for Start Up Dunedin - it's a very positive, vital part of the city.
