Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
For the DCC to come to the conclusion that millions of dollars' worth of playgrounds will benefit the city at large more than theatre is beyond comprehension. It is also laughable that smaller, regional centre's like Oamaru and Balclutha have better-equipped-and-maintained theatre infrastructure than we do. Sell 231 Stuart St and use the money, plus the $17M that was previously earmarked for theatre, to maintain the city's remaining theaters. Namely those of the Dunedin Theatre Network who have done their utmost to work in collaboration with the DCC to save amateur theatre in the city. These venues, some of which are within 48 months of closing their doors forever, are the lifeblood of theatre arts in Dunedin; without the Playhouse to foster and teach the next generation of actors, technicians and directors; without the NAT to facilitate premiering and experimental works; without the Mayfair to fill the void of a mid-sized venue for larger scale productions like opera and musicals, the cultural standing of the what is supposed to be a Unesco City Of Literature will be irrevocably damaged - once these buildings go, there will be nothing coming to replace them, and there will be no one to blame except the DCC. And blamed they will be.

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
