VCW urges the council to continue to invest in the cycleway infrastructure. This provides a public good and connects Dunedin to the wider Otago network with flow-on social, environmental, and economic benefits for the city. This would also complement the Dunedin Railways Journey.
The retention of place-based funding is also vital for our community partners who assist us in the work we undertake. Community funds have been shown to provide huge social benefits for the city. Any reduction to this would not be beneficial for the city or our communities.
