9 yr plan 2025 and Local Water Done Well Submission

Submission

9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
No, do not introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST)

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
Many locals host family and friends when they visit Dunedin. Can a lesser amount say $10 work as a trial first and then re-assess? Children should be free regardless.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
DCC needs to strengthen its commitment to Māori and continue with its work to achieve the aspirations as described in its strategic framework Te Taki Haruru DCC needs to continue to be bold with its Zero Carbon policy and it's commitment to lead the city in reducing emissions by 2030 DCC needs to continue and strengthen its work in partnering with communities. It can't do everythine itself - so having strong relationships with communities via its Community Advisors, Enviroschools, Taskforce Green, Keep Dunedin Beautiful and Community events - are small ways that the DCC helps communities to deliver on wellbeing for all people in our area. DCC nees to look for better efficiencies with grants so administration time for community groups applying, as well as the costs related to processing the grants by DCC staff is reduced. There aretechnology options now available that could be considered as a way to address this. Continuing with community grants is valued by the community and a way that the DCC directly supports volunteers with other costs, while they freely give their time and experience/skills.

Local Water Done Well feedback

Which water services delivery model do you support?
The Council’s preferred option: an in-house delivery model

Why did you choose this option?
There is too much uncertainty in the sector and retaining a local view/decision on local assets is important

Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
