Variation 2 change ID Proposed change from Rural Residential to Township and Settlement Residential Provision name and number, or address and map layer name My/our submission seeks the following decision from the Council: Reject the change Details Reasons for these views The stated grounds for objecting are as follows: • The land in the Challis, the Cove area is not suitable for multiple subdivisions because of geotechnical and stability issues. Those issues have been grounds for the Council to refuse prospective subdivisions in the past with limited exceptions. • The change of plan zoning will allow uncontrolled multiple-use subdivision, the environmental effects of which will be more than minor and potentially significant. • The proposed rezoning accordingly does not promote sustainable management of natural and physical resources as required by section 5 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
