    Variation 2 change ID D7
Provision name and number, or address and map layer name Bain reserve DP1 12686 PT 1&2 PT DP 6568 - Land behind 187 Wakari Road proposing to be turned into residential land for building
My/our submission seeks the following decision from the Council: If the change is not rejected, amend as outlined below
Details D7 - the rural land at the back of 187 Wakari Road proposed to be changed to residential under the 2GP variation will have significant impact on the enjoyment of the area. I have been a resident of this property for over 43 years and while I understand development is important for the city there are 3 proposals I would like to suggest before any decisions are made. 1) I feel there must be a green space 20 metres back from the private road that can not be built on 2) In the middle of this green space area there are planted low growing trees/bushes which can act as a noise reducer and create a visual barrier to the new subdivision and 3) Guaranteed maintenance of this area by the council to keep trees/bushes tidy and not overgrown and certainly not expanding closer than 5 metres from the private road or areas used as walkways when fully grown 4) the grass in this area to be maintained by the DCC
Reasons for these views There will be a issue with enjoyment of property for existing residents in the area and having a 20 metre green space with visual blocking of the new subdivision will reduce the impact of construction and the noise and visual impact of the new area
