Provision name and number, or address and map layer name 6 Park Road, Warrington, submitting against proposed Change of density, size of sections, increase of housing density,
My/our submission seeks the following decision from the Council: Reject the change
    Details F3 Reject the change
Reasons for these views I have been a resident of Warrington since 1989. I believe Warrington has suffered too intensive, uncontrolled level of housing development in last few years. During this period we saw more new houses arise in the settlement than over the last three decades. It has been not matched by any improvement in existing infrastructure. The proposed change to increase of density of housing development on the property of 6 Park Road, the rural outskirt of the main dense town cluster, is not a small proposal. It actually suggests building a town like density settlement in the very last rural area in Warrington, which has been already very much gobbled by urban development. In the context of already existing subdivisions and housing activity in this area, allowing dense housing development at 6 Park Road will significantly add to the burden this small village is already carrying and cumulative effects of the new development added to existing could not be considered minor or ignored. The changes to section 6 Park road would necessitate in infrastructure upgrade. This would be detrimental to the community as the costs the upgrades would affect the existing rate payers. The water network, road infrastructure and sewerage system would need rebuilding. There will be also huge environmental effect. As a close neighbor I could attest to the variety of biodiversity on this land. There are pukekoes, hawks, paradise ducks and grey herons. Just last weekend we saw a rare sighting of a flock of 16 grey herons that circled around and settled on the 6 park road property. This is very rare. With such a dense development already in progress around Blueskin Bay and still more proposed, this wildlife has nowhere to go, there is hardly any undeveloped land remaining surrounding Blueskin Bay. Dense urban development in that area would also significantly change the green, rural, restful aspect of the environment, which would be disastrous for many existing residents, as this is why we chosen to live out of town in a quiet rural settlement, which it seems to rapidly lose its character and appeal. For the existing residents, this is a huge blow, and loss of character that attracted us here in the first place. This needs to be considered. In the face of so many rapid and dense building developments in Warrington, I believe it is necessary to have a green spaces between the housing clusters for a bit of relief from hustle of what sadly has become the urban activity. To propose to build another building cluster in that space in between clusters (Warrington village starting with 12 Park Rd and the settlement on the Park Road/Coast Rd crossroad) seems absurd. It would ruin the place for the rest of us already living here. I very strongly object to proposed change to allow change in density of the new developments. As I received my letter from DCC with the information of the changes and the option to put submission late (26th February) I feel I had very limited time to respond about something that really matters to me and my community. I would like to send my strong objection supported by the thoughts above but would like to ask for the possibility to supply more information in support of my submission at the later date, when I have a chance to find relevant documents to comment more fully. Many Thanks, Malgosia
