Submission
Variation 2 change ID GF11 Provision name and number, or address and map layer name Polwarth Road and Wakari Road, Helensburgh (Reference GF11) My/our submission seeks the following decision from the Council: Accept the change with amendments outlined below Details We suggest that within this area (GF11) the section size should be a minimum of at least 2000m2. This is based on the new proposal by the DCC with regard to Honeystone St changes (ie GF10) Reasons for these views We recognise the current demand and importance of allowing new subdivisions within Dunedin City. In particular in the neighbouring rural land as Honeystone Street and the land from 195 Wakari Road to the north of Polwarth Road. We have lived at our current address for approximately 55 years. We shifted to this location for the semi rural setting, the fantastic views, great location for schooling and other local services. In relation to proposed change from rural Residential 2 to General Residential 1. We are very aware of options within General Residential 1 proposed zoning. We believe that within the 195 Wakari Road land title the rules allowing 400m2 minimum sized sections is a real issue as the setting of this intensification of land will adversely alter ther real character of the local semi rural landscapes. The real issue we are concerned about is the runoff and drainage from this sloping land due to any residential development onto the lower lying residential houses within this area.
