9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Good day Councilors, This concerns the safety plan for the Otakou Peninsula Connection which I fully endorse. And this is almost a repeat of what I submitted to Mayor Dave Cull at that time, yes, it has been going on for that long. Particularly I was concerned about the section by the Fisheries area and the cutting by the Portobello School. These improvements are identified as Year 2 and Year 4 respectively in your documents. It has been reported elsewhere that the Taiaroa Head and Marae visitors number around 500,000 per annum that is a combination of tourists and marae visitors. All have to travel through both these areas. But having got to their destination they then turn round and come back so the number of people travelling through is double ie 1,000,000 ie not a typo, one million. And that does not include the locals who go to work and school etc. You all saw the videos, presented at the last hearing, of buses, vehicles and tourist coaches crossing the centre line just to navigate a corner and also get through the school cutting. How much traffic does it need to recognise a potential for disaster? I am particularly concerned about the Portobello School cutting which is barely but maybe legally wide enough for two vehicles to pass but allows no room for pedestrians or cyclists as there is no verge to walk or ride on. There is also a rise in the road at this point so one is blind and one cannot see a pedestrian or vehicle before you get to it/them. Problem. And I have not mentioned potential sunstrike. We are not a Third World country with notoriously dangerous roads nor do we want to be so lets get the projects completed as promised by the Council many years ago. It will future proof an asset for the local community and the whole of Dunedin. And it will be a credit to the Council who made it happen.
