The annual plan outlines the work the DCC will do and the services we’ll provide in the coming year.
The DCC has an important role to play in the city’s recovery from COVID-19 and this is reflected in our annual plan for 2020-21.
In response to the significant impact of COVID-19, the Council revised the budget and found some extra savings. The Council also created a $950,000 fund to support the city’s recovery.
We also expect COVID-19 to have a flow-on effect for the revenue we’ll receive next year. If this happens, the Council decided we will borrow to cover any revenue shortfall and to cover the $1 million cost of placing Dunedin Railways Limited in hibernation.
The budget includes an overall rates rise of 4.1%, down from the 6.5% originally proposed. Most fees have gone up by 3%, mainly to cover extra costs.
