Various streets – Town Belt Active Travel Trial
On 11 December 2025, the Dunedin City Council voted 10-4 to proceed with the Town Belt Active Travel Trial, a project that aims to enhance the recreation and amenity potential of our city’s Town Belt.
The trial will take place from 26 January 2026 to 19 April 2026.
Vehicle access for residents and essential services will be maintained, while bollards and signage will define what areas are closed to through traffic.
Queens Drive, between Braid Road and Preston Crescent, will be closed from 26 January 2026 to 19 April 2026 for the Town Belt Active Travel Trial.
Braid Road, between Queens Drive and Ross Street, will be closed from 26 January 2026 to 19 April 2026 for the Town Belt Active Travel Trial.
