Place-based community grants application

Place-based community grants must be submitted using the online form; late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Important information about applying for a grant:

  • We recommend you contact us before you send us your application. We can give you advice and support for your project or service, and help you apply for a grant – phone 03 477 4000 or email community@dcc.govt.nz.
  • If you have received a DCC grant before and have not completed the Report Back Form for it, you will not be able to apply for another grant from us. Please complete the Grants Report Back Form.
  • This application form should be read in conjunction with the Grants Management Policy and the Place-based community grants criteria.

Place-based community grants close at 5pm 31 July.

To apply for a Community or Arts small projects grant of up to $500 please use the Small project grants funding scheme.

    Please attach letters of support from individuals and local, regional or national organisations. It is useful to send evidence of the success of previous work such as programme evaluations. You can attach these in the last section of this form (a maximum of five letters).

  • About your budget

    For Place Based Community Grants, you must contribute at least 30% of the total cost of the activities/services for which you are applying. Contributions can include donated materials, volunteer hours (calculated using the current living wage), and professional services.

    NOTE:

    • Please attach a copy of your budget for each year for which funding is sought - you can attach the files in the last section of this form
    • You may be required to supply quotes to support your application, but you do not have to submit these in the initial application. It will be helpful to obtain indicative quotes for major items (goods and services) in your budget.
    • When you report back on your grant, we expect expenditure will (in general) reflect your proposal without limiting your activity.
    • If your application covers several activities please detail these separately in your budget with subtotals, before submitting a combined total below. The Project Costs worksheet will allow you to enter additional information under “Other”.
