The George Street - Bank Street corridor is flat and links high density residential housing with the city centre, schools and the campus area. It is therefore ideally suited to be a major cycle/pedestrian route. This should be encouraged.
However I strongly request that additional changes are made to prevent the use of Inverleith Street as a vehicle route to avoid the George-Duke intersection. Currently many trucks from the Willowbank store and vehicles travelling to/from Leith Valley use this very narrow residential street as an inappropriate shortcut. Planned changes to the George-Duke intersection will exacerbate this. Perhaps a raised pedestrian crossing at the George-Inverleith intersection would achieve this prevention. Thank you
