In-line bus stops - these seem like a bad idea to me. I expect they will back up traffic and make people annoyed, increasing anti-public-transport sentiment.
I am strongly against the Kassel kurbs where the bikes go around the in-lane bus stop onto the footpath. This seems really confusing and unsafe to me. I think we should keep things as consistent as possible so that drivers and pedestrians know what to expect. Cyclists go around the bus by going into a zone which not only has ordinary pedestrians but also people getting on and off the bus (and possibly quite a number of people waiting to get on or stepping out into the path of cycles). If there's no bus on the in-line bus stop, just cycle on the road with no need for the Kassel kurb, if there's a bus, I would feel much more comfortable either waiting or carefully going around it on the road as I do elsewhere.
Is there evidence that either of these 2 design features works well?
3. I don't agree that it's necessary to close off access to St David Street. I find the current trial roundabout works well
