Bus stop Improvements , Intersection improvements , Roundabout option 1 , Roundabout option 2 , St David St one way (St David St option 1) , St David St two way (St David St option 2) , Parking changes , Cycle lanes
Do you have any comments about the proposed changes
The proposed changes are targeted for the benefit of a very small minority of road users to the detriment of the majority of the road users, residents, and businesses owners in the neighbourhood . As a property owner on corner of George and St David streets both options will restrict access to my property. One option effectively turns St David street into a dead end. Both options give no access to George St from St David st. Apartment A at 2 St David st has a garage on George St. .to access the garage from St David st I would have to drive around the block and negotiate a turn into the garage whilst still in the exit path of the roundabout!! The consequences of the proposed changes would lower the value of our properties and a less desirable place to live in. Cyclists are catered for with existing cycle lanes one block over from George st on Great King St. To summarise the proposed changes will do nothing to enhance the area but will do great harm to the traffic flow and amenity of the community at huge cost. A tragic waste and squandering of ratepayers funds.
