Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
I still think that it was a huge mistake not to undertake the necessary investments in 2017 to make sure that we keep this beautiful asset alive and that it can be used. I am thinking of the Oamaru Opera House where after years of hesitation (short term thinking), the building was finally renovated and now it is a real asset to the town of Oamaru. I would like the DCC to be more proactive to protect our theatre venues and I am happy for my rates to be increased to pay for such an investment.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Yes, introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
HOWEVER I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF $20. I WOULD HAVE LIKED THE QUESTION TO BE MORE OPEN AND ACTUALLY ASK WHAT AMOUNT WE AS DUNEDINITES THINK IS AN APPROPRIATE AMOUNT. I would suggest $10 as a fair entry fee.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Yes and you can read it in the attached document, thank you for giving us the opportunity to give you feedback and I really hope that you do read them all and listen to our concerns.
